As we move into summer I look for the racing action heating up at Evergreen Speedway.  This Saturday is round 2 of the “Big West” late-model series where the regular Evergreen Super Late Model crate engine cars are joined by the more powerful compression motor cars from around the Northwest and Canada.  If we can hold off the rain for a full day, I look for the biggest car counts of the year, if not years, this Saturday.

 July 4^th at Evergreen is the Les Schwab USA Birthday Bash and Fireworks Show.  If it can be wrecked or blown-up, it will be this night.

 Then the following weekend is the big K&N weekend.  It all starts on Friday July 8^th with the Coors Light Fan Fest.  Located next to the Lowe’s store in Monroe, the fan fest will run 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will include a parade of haulers as the NASCAR K&N West Series rolls into town in grand style.  Also, see live bands, visit the food booths, and get your favorite NASCAR West driver’s autograph.

 Saturday July 9^th will be a huge day at Evergreen with the Beacon Plumbing Freakin’ 200.  The K&N teams will practice and qualify for their race on Sunday.  Saturday night will include the Super Figure 8’s.  Also, the 5/8’s mile track will be packed with action as the NW Pro 4 Trucks, the Outlaw Compacts, the Street Stocks, the Pro 4 Alliance, and the Foster Press Mini-Stocks all race on the big track.  I predict well over 100 cars for this night.

 The weekend concludes on Sunday July 10^th with Coors Light NASCAR 300.  The Super Late Models will race in the 100 lap GM Crate National race followed by the NASCAR K&N Pro Series 200.  See you there!!!
